#14. Marc Glazer
President & CEO, BFS Capital
As president and CEO of BFS Capital, Marc Glazer has been expertly overseeing his company’s strategic and financial resources since 2002. With more than 26 years of experience in the industry, he has made BFS Capital, formerly known as Business Financial Services, Inc., one of the top companies in the specialty finance arena. Today he’s focused on management of banking and capital resources, finance strategy, strategic investment and acquisition, and international growth. Graduating magna cum laude in accounting from Binghamton University, one of the crown jewels in New York State University system, Glazer has become a sought-after presence on executive panels at The Wharton School of Business and other roundtables devoted to this subject. His first role as CEO was at 4SmallBusiness.com, a small business portal that he transformed into a specialty finance company. Through business loans and merchant cash advances, BFS Capital, which is based in South Florida, has become widely recognized in the industry. In 2008, Glazer tapped private and institutional equity partners to strengthen the balance sheet and spur growth. His strong relationship with his banking partners paid off handsomely in February 2016, when Glazer proudly announced a new $165 million credit line to help small business owners respond to rising demands. All told, BFS’s total small business financing has hit $1 billion—a major milestone reached in July 2015—with financing solutions ranging from $4,000 to $2 million in all 50 states. Glazer reached a milestone himself in 2013, when Ernst & Young announced he’d become a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Florida.
